The good news: we have a *seat* on the LIRR train to go back to Penn Station. On the way to Belmont, we stood the entire time.

The bad news: without audio during the race, there is no way for us to know WHY Big Brown was nowhere near the winner, nor any other horse as far as I can tell. :o(

He finished SO far behind the others that I started looking to see if an equine ambulance was on the way to catch up with him.

Fortunately, no emergency personnel were deployed, but my next stop after I post this will be sports news sites to see what went awry for Big Brown.

Rats. History will have to bide its time a bit longer, I guess.
